About Program:

Turkish Sign Language Translation Master’s Degree Program with Thesis has been prepared to create the academic background required for doctorate level studies which will enable the study of Sign Languages and Turkish Sign Language Translation as an independent and scientific research field similar to those in universities around the world.

Goals:

The aim of the Turkish Sign Language Translation Master’s Degree Program with Thesis is to train expert Turkish Sign Language Translators that have language awareness of Turkish, Sign Languages and Turkish Sign Language, that have knowledge of the cultures and institutions of both languages, that have theoretical and critical knowledge in translation and at the same time have practical experience, and have knowledge and are familiar with the terminology of the fields like social sciences, political science, economics, literature, history. In addition to the other conditions, the students who will participate in the program are required to have at least B1 level of Turkish Sign Language proficiency.

Occupational Profile of Graduates

Graduates can work as Turkish Sign Language Translators in both public and private sectors. They can work as academicians in universities in Turkey and abroad.

Summary of Program Learning Outcomes

To train Turkish Sign Language Translators who are able to use their working languages effectively in different communication situations and who have theoretical and critical knowledge in the field of translation and at the same time have the practical experience and are able to continuously improve their knowledge and skills in daily life and professional environments.

About Program:

Turkish Sign Language Interpretation Master’s Program (Evening Education) is a “MBA Program without thesis” with a total of 90 AKTS.

Turkish Sign Language Interpretation Master’s Program (Evening Education) Academic support to meet the great need of Turkish Sign Language (TID) interpreters, which will enable the individuals of the Deaf Community to communicate effectively with other individuals in different social and cultural situations by performing a qualified translation act prepared to provide.

Goals:

The aim of the Turkish Sign Language Interpretation Master Program (Evening Education) is to educate qualified translators who are able to translate Turkish Sign Language (TID) into an increasingly important emphasis on scientific methods.

Students who will participate in the program are required to have Turkish Sign Language Proficiency at least at B1 level as well as other requirements.
